Description
EXOPLATE is an exothermic cover plate used for head treatment in ingot casting. The chemical basis is similar to ISO EX 26, which is adapted to the mold geometry in different formats pressed and then tempered.
Main ingredients: Al, Al2O3
Ignition temperature: > 300 ° C
Formats
VK (square): max. 490 x 490 mm
FL (rectangular): Max. 310 x 720 mm
Application
An alternative to powder treatment of the ingot head is the use of EXOPLATE. The advantage: Before the ingot molds are filled with liquid steel, the ingot head treatment has already been completed. EXOPLATE is therefore particularly suitable for casting stations with several ingot molds. The special geometry of the plates additionally enables better contact with the steel surface.
