Description

ISO EX 26 is an insulating covering powder with exothermic effect, used for head treatment in ingot casting.
Main Ingredients: Al, Al2O3
Bulk density: 1.3 kg / dm3
Ignition temperature: > 300 ° C
Application
​
After the mold is filled with liquid steel, the ingot head treatment begins. In this process ISO EX 26 is usually applied in a specific quantity of approx. 4 kg/t steel. For steel grades susceptible to shrinkage, ISO EX 26 is applied in combination with THERMO D3 - a highly exothermic powder - and applied as a second, insulating layer.

The product has an exothermic and subsequently insulating effect. The delayed solidification in the ingot head basically results in the following advantages:
